A recommended leveling plan

Short answer: push required story quests until a system or level gate stops you, complete nearby overlapping objectives and first-time activities, equip obvious upgrades, then return to the main path. Avoid long detours and expensive upgrades on temporary gear.
Phase Main objective Stop and check
Opening Finish tutorials and establish controls Movement, dodge, defensive skill, inventory locks
Early progression Advance story and collect overlapping quests New system tutorials and obvious gear upgrades
First group content Complete first-time activities and learn your role Interrupts, defenses, party responsibility
Approaching cap Finish required unlocks and protect scarce resources Daily/weekly limits, currencies, build direction

What to prioritize

Priority Activity Reason
1 Main story and required quests Move the campaign forward and unlock systems and areas.
2 Nearby high-value side objectives Take efficient rewards when they overlap your route.
3 First-time dungeons and tutorials Learn roles and collect unlock or completion rewards.
4 Exploration on the current route Use AION 2's flight and vertical world without creating long detours.
5 Repeatable farming Only when progression, gear, or a level gate requires it.

The efficient leveling loop

Collect one local cluster

Accept objectives that share a direction. Avoid stacking a quest log full of distant errands.

Advance the main objective

Move story progression first and complete overlapping tasks along the way.

Use flight to read the terrain

Scan vertical routes and landing points; do not treat free flight as permission for random detours.

Return, equip, and clear inventory

Compare obvious upgrades, lock valuables, and postpone expensive enhancement decisions.

Check new systems once

Read each unlocked feature, complete its tutorial, then return to the route unless it provides immediate value.

Gear, skills, and resources while leveling

Gear

Take clear upgrades

Prefer useful stats and item level; avoid perfecting pieces you will replace soon.

Skills

Build a small core

Learn a basic opener, resource loop, defensive answer, and movement tool before adding complexity.

Stigma

Spend with context

Stigma systems have changed in regional updates. Confirm global costs before committing scarce items.

Currency

Separate common from rare

Routine costs are fine; unfamiliar or time-gated currency deserves a pause.

Do not publish or follow a “fastest route” until the global build confirms quest XP, level gates, travel, and dungeon rewards.

When progression slows down

Symptom Check first Avoid
Main quest is level-gated Nearby side quests, first-time activities, and unfinished tutorials Grinding one low-value enemy without comparing rewards
Enemies take too long Unequipped upgrades, skill levels, basic rotation, and weapon condition Spending rare materials on every temporary slot
You keep dying Defensive skill, dodge timing, camera, target choice, and healing items Assuming more damage is the only solution
Inventory is full Lock valuables, identify safe vendor items, and move reward boxes Mass-dismantling unfamiliar gear
Your group is separated Agree on the next story or unlock checkpoint Waiting at every minor side objective
Route note: record where a gate occurred and what cleared it. After global launch, these observations can replace pre-launch assumptions with a tested route.

Choose a session plan

30 minutes

One clean story segment

Advance the main path, finish overlapping objectives, then clear inventory before logging out.

90 minutes

Story plus one system

Complete a quest cluster and spend focused time learning one newly unlocked feature or dungeon.

Long session

Use planned breaks

Set checkpoints for settings, inventory, hydration, and class review so speed does not create mistakes.

With friends

Synchronize milestones

Agree where to regroup instead of forcing everyone to maintain identical pace.

When you reach the level cap

Stop treating XP as the only measure of progress. Finish important unlocks, understand endgame currencies, review your basic build, and enter group content at a difficulty where mechanics are readable.

Launch update promise: once the global client is live, this guide will add verified level brackets, required quests, dungeon unlocks, and a tested route with timestamps.

AION 2 leveling FAQ

What is the fastest way to level?

Prioritize the main story and required unlock quests, then complete side objectives only when they overlap your route or clear a progression gate.

Should I complete every side quest?

No. Take nearby objectives with useful rewards, but avoid clearing an entire region before unlocking the systems that make later progression more efficient.

Should I enhance gear while leveling?

Equip clear upgrades, but postpone expensive enhancement until you understand replacement speed, transfer rules, and the value of the required materials.

Is solo or group leveling faster?

Use solo play for uninterrupted story progress and groups for required or high-value first-time activities. The faster option depends on queue time, objectives, and the global reward structure.

When should I start daily and weekly activities?

Learn them when they unlock, then prioritize anything with a reset or limited entry only after confirming its rewards and schedule.
