Elyos or Asmodian:
choose your AION 2 faction

Pick the faction your friends will play first. If you are solo, choose the world, visual identity, and community you prefer—there is no responsible basis for declaring one faction universally stronger.

The decision rule

Match your friends

Faction separation can prevent you from sharing the same starting world and group plans.

Confirm the server structure

NC has used separate Elyos and Asmodian servers in AION 2; verify how the global list presents them.

Choose the identity you enjoy

Your attachment to the world matters longer than launch-week population guesses.

Visual descriptions are broad themes, not gameplay statistics. Do not choose from claims that one faction is automatically better at PvP or PvE.

Choosing with a group

Agree on four items in one message: service region, server, faction, and primary play schedule. A perfect class choice is useless if the group is divided across incompatible servers.

Best group rule: let the least flexible player decide first—for example, someone tied to a particular region or existing community—then align everyone else.

Check what the choice may lock

Before confirming, verify server-wide faction rules, character creation restrictions, guild plans, friend compatibility, and whether later faction changes are officially supported. Treat the decision as difficult to reverse until the global service proves otherwise.

Group rule: the best faction is the one the whole group can actually create and play together on the chosen server.

Common faction mistakes

Following a streamer blindly: large migrations and queues can change quickly.

Assuming characters transfer freely: wait for confirmed global transfer rules.

Choosing before friends reply: server and faction restrictions can make that expensive.

Treating aesthetics as power: faction identity is not a tier list.
