Officially announced service regions

NC has published launch lineups for Europe, NA West, NA East, Latin America, and Asia. Elyos and Asmodian characters use separate servers, so match both the server name and faction with your group before creating a character.

September 30–October 1: new Global servers

NC announced Yustiel for Elyos and Marchutan for Asmodians, added at 14:40 UTC (07:40 PDT / 16:40 CEST). Choose region, faction, then server. A cross-faction matchmaking pairing for these additions has not been separately confirmed.

NC also added Ariel (Elyos) and Azphel (Asmodian) at 15:20 UTC (08:20 PDT / 17:20 CEST), followed by Fregion (Elyos) and Ereshkigal (Asmodian) at 16:18 UTC (09:18 PDT / 18:18 CEST). Instanced content, including dungeons, is cross-server.

The announcement now also lists NA East Vaizel (Elyos) / Triniel (Asmodian), EU Meslamtaeda (Elyos) / Beritra (Asmodian), and NA West Nezekan (Elyos) / Zikel (Asmodian). NA East was added September 30 at 21:50 UTC, and the EU pair at 23:10 UTC. The NA West row gives 17:08 PDT but 02:10 CEST, a two-minute discrepancy; use the official server selector rather than treating that row as an exact opening-time conversion. These faction listings do not separately confirm new cross-faction matchmaking assignments.

NC plans server transfers from October 14 between servers of the same faction, initially free. Early Access players will only be allowed to transfer between Early Access servers, not to commercial launch servers. The free period's end, additional eligibility requirements and exact opening hour are not specified. Players facing a queue may consider a recommended server while keeping these restrictions in mind.

Official Elyos and Asmodian matchmaking pairs

Each launch server houses one faction. For cross-faction modes such as the Abyss and Spacetime Rifts, NC pairs an Elyos server with an Asmodian server. These pairings are operational links, not a shared character-creation server.

Region Elyos server Asmodian opponent
Europe Siel Israphel
Europe Nezekan Zikel
Europe Vaizel Triniel
Europe Kaisinel Lumiel
NA West Siel Israphel
NA East Siel Israphel
NA East Nezekan Zikel
Latin America Siel Israphel
Latin America Nezekan Zikel
Asia Siel Israphel
Important: NC says matchmaking pairs are not permanent and may be updated to protect faction balance. Recheck the official announcement before organizing long-term rivalries.

Choose in this order

Latency

Select the nearest appropriate service region. Manual action combat makes responsiveness important.

Friends and guild

Match the people you actually expect to play with.

Language and schedule

Choose a community active during your normal hours.

Faction and server

Agree on both; AION 2 has separated Elyos and Asmodian starting structures.

Population preference

Use it as a final tiebreaker, not the first rule.

Should you choose the busiest server?

A busy server may offer more groups and a stronger market, but can also bring queues, crowded objectives, competition for names, and unstable launch-week trends. A moderate server with your friends is usually safer than chasing the largest creator community.

Prepare one backup server in the same region and faction. Use it only if queues or creation restrictions make your first choice impractical.

Agree on a fallback before queues begin

Trigger Group response
Long queue Wait for the agreed time limit before anyone moves.
Server unavailable Use the named backup server, not individual guesses.
Faction restriction Pause creation and confirm the whole group can select the same faction.
Poor latency Test the correct region before abandoning character plans.

The message to send your group

Copy this structure: Region → first-choice server → backup server → Elyos or Asmodian → platform → usual play time.

Do not assume platform choice determines server access, or that transfers will repair a split group. Confirm portability and transfer rules before committing purchases or progression.

AION 2 server FAQ

Which server should I choose?

Choose the nearest appropriate region, then match your friends' exact server name and faction. Population should be a tiebreaker rather than the first decision.

Can Elyos and Asmodian friends play together?

Do not plan on it. The launch list separates Elyos and Asmodian servers even when they share a server name, so agree on faction before character creation.

Can I transfer to another server later?

NC plans initially free transfers from October 14 within the same faction. Early Access players will be restricted to Early Access servers and cannot transfer to commercial launch servers. The free period's end and additional conditions remain unannounced.

What if my first-choice server has a long queue?

Use a group-agreed waiting limit and backup server. Avoid splitting the group through individual launch-day decisions.
